Last post before Haiti

Was nice to join the Eastside Stithcers on Wed evening for my last meet up prior to leaving for Haiti.  My grandson and I will be at the airport around 2:00AM Fri. because that is the time my husband has to be at work.  Our flight is at 6:30AM or so.  I am excited to be going on this trip again. We will be doing some of the same things as the last trip but, we will be doing some new things also.  I am looking forward to the trips with Kyhomi (spelling), she goes to outlying villages and teaches the women how to earn money, take care of their families by keeping them healthy and about women's health.  Kyhomi feels that if the women are educated they will be able to keep the whole family healthy.
I will post pictures when I return.

Have a great week knitting etc.

Looking forward

I am looking forward to joining the Eastside Stitchers on Wed evening.  I will be leaving for Haiti early Fri morning so this will be the last time I will be able to join all of you until, after I return on Apr. 6th.  I am excited to be going back to Haiti this year to see the progress that has been made.  I will post picture on my blog when I return.

Thanks

Had a great at Eastside Stitchers at Crossroads on Wed evening.  I even had time to take a good walk around the mall for some exercise to help with my weight loss.  I was able to walk without pain in my right knee for the first time in about a year and not have pain when I went to bed last night.
I am so thankful for Eastside Stitchers because knitting and crocheting are things that I enjoy and it is so fun to spend time with others that enjoy it also.  The group helps me to have some me time which is something that for so many years I did not take the time to include in my day.
Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful and welcoming group.

Eastside Stitchers

It was so nice to go to Eastside Stitchers this evening.  Sometimes I just need to take time for myself and this group is something that I enjoy being a part of.  They have all been so welcoming and are good company.  I know that I will be able to learn a lot of new things from this group that I came across one Friday morning several months ago.  Thank you all members of the Eastside Stitchers for being there and being so open and welcoming to newcomers.

Computer problems

My computer updated to Windows 8.1 and boy am I having problems with my sign ins.  I can't find what I'm looking for and when I do it saves it when I don't want it to.  Finally think I have it figured out.  I hope so because I want to be able to continue posting.
I hope to get my grandsons sweater finished before we go to Haiti, have started on the front already.
Have a good week everyone.

Progress

Haven't posted for a while so decided I had better do so.
I have finished the back of the sweater for my grandson and I think it looks pretty good.  I have started the front, only have the first 12 of 16 rows of the ribbing finished so far.  I am so glad that it will fit him.  I made the largest size and used a size larger needle than called for in the pattern.  I am still slowly working on the Imperial yarn hat that I am making for my husband.  My next project will be figuring out how to graph a picture that my grand-nephew drew and crochet a sweater for him with the picture on it.  This will be the project I will take with me to Haiti as then I won't have to worry about them telling me I can not take the knitting needles on the airline flights. I am worried about the International flight more than the state to state flights.  When I return from Haiti I will post pictures of my progress on that project.

Have a good week all.  BlueBerryMary
