I have started the ribbing at the bottom of my Flax sweater today. I measured it with a sweater that I wear a lot and like the length so I know I will like the length that it will be when the ribbing is finished. One to the sleeves next. May have to put it on hold when I am on my road trip because I am also working on Christmas gifts, one down, one about half way finished and a lot more to go. Glad I started now, maybe I will have them all finished by Christmas.

Had fun on the LYS crawl. Made it to all 26 yarn shops. I will post pictures of my purchases soon. I did not spend at every shop but I did spend more than I probably should have. In my defense I purchased some of the yarns to make Christmas gifts for family. I am going to be very busy between now and Christmas, that's all I have to say. That's not really a bad thing for someone that has to have 3-5 projects going at a time. Should be interesting at least.

PNW Yarn Crawl
Finished the PNW yarn crawl today and then backtracked to Rainy Day Yarns because on Thursday I won the daily drawing. I was so excited because I rarely win any of those type of things. Today I had a good time with one of my sisters and a friend of hers as we drove to Amanda's Yarn Shop in Polsbo, Allyn Knit and Fiber shop in Allyn and Fancy Image in Shelton. The two that were with me are not knitters or crocheters but it was nice to have them along and they seemed to enjoy it also.
Now to figure out what to make with the yarn I got with the gift certificate that was for $35.00.

Progress then stuck again
With a suggestion from the staff at Maker's Mercantile I was able to get the collar of my Chimney Fire sweater figured out. Now I am having trouble with the upper body portion. I will bring it to the Wed evening Eastside Stitchers group this week and maybe someone will be able to help me figure it out. I will also bring the vest I am working on for my DH because I will be able to get the sleeve trim finished and maybe get the side seams sewn and it will be finished completely.

Projects and housework
Working on some of my projects that I have patterns and yarn for as well as the sweater for my husband that I am making from the reclaimed sweater oat. I still need to rip back a portion of the back, (to the start of the neck shaping) and redo that then figure out sleeves.
On another note I have been doing a lot of Spring cleaning this past week. I mean a lot because I am not the best housekeeper in the world and I have finally gotten to the point where I am getting things accomplished and keeping it that way. Feeling very happy with myself so far.

Had a wonderful time at the first annual Eastside Stitchers retreat on Camano Island, right on the water. Had wonderful company also. We all had a great time knitting and visiting in a somewhat quiet environment. Did some beach combing also. I finished a crochet project that I had in my waiting pile for a year and that felt great.
I am still working on the sweater for my hubby, have the front and back finished, joined the shoulders and will be working on the neck edging next. I need to find a sweater pattern that I can adapt the sleeves to work for the vest turned to sweater then I can finish his sweater.
Hope to make it out to Maker's Mercantile next week to get help with a pattern that I bought there. Just has me baffled to no end. Of course it is the first sweater that I am making for myself that I am having trouble with.
Hope to see everyone on Wed

Duh, I was wondering how I could not have enough yarn from an XL women's sweater coat to make a men's medium sweater, I just found the yarn from the back of said sweater coat buried under a bunch of project bags. I will be looking for sweater patterns that I can use to adapt the sleeves to fit the vest that I am knitting for my husband so that I can make him the sweater that he would really rather have. I figure instead of doing the trim on the arm hole openings I can just make. sleeves with the same pattern and put them in instead. I should be able to do that with not to much trouble since I had to do that with the Teddy Bear sweater that I made for Dylan.

Pictures
I need to get on the ball and post some of my recent projects. I have a picture of Dylan and Genevieve with the sweaters that I made for them. Dylan's as some of you know is the one that he helped me design with the Teddy Bear with Valentines.

Dylan's Sweater
Well I finally got Dylan's Teddy Bear with Valentines sweater finished. I will post pictures in the next day or two under my projects page. I am very happy with the way it turned out. It does need a little tweaking but that is something that I can work on with the next one I make. I need to find the other pictures that Dylan drew for me so that I can do one with a different picture and colors.
